i was at my local petshop ant was looking around couldnt see anything i wanted so i was buying some more plants and noticed a little sighn when looking at the fighter fish saying cherry shrimp £2.50 each so i looked and there was one left in the tank poor thing someone bought some and left one on its own so i bought it. that is my first cherry shrimp i have seen in real life for sale so im verry happy normally its just amano shrimp and bamboo shrimp so i was happy to get it because i wanted something different than my amano shrimp (not that i dont like amano shrimp) i think its a male cherry shrimp and is tiny about 1cm at the moment, but its only been in my tank less than 24 hours and looks verry nicly coloured cant wait till larry grows up he seems to be getting on fine with my 10 amano shrimp and normally either sits on the java moss my plant pot with some green alge on it it it verry rarley goes onto my other plants. i only named him because i doubt i will se any more cherry shrimp in shops any time soon. also i noticed one of my amano shrimp was missing a leg will that grow back or will he be missing a leg forever?
sorry i havent been on in ages i have had net and computer problems recently.

Congratulations on finding larry

Where do you live since you posted
£2.50 and not $2.50? Well hope you are able to find more friends for larry soon
also i noticed one of my amano shrimp was missing a leg will that grow back or will he be missing a leg forever?
Your amano shrimp should have his limb back after 1 or 2 molts. The eyes are just about the only things that won't grow back. You might want to see if you have anything in the tank (structurewise) that is cutting the shrimp

i live in sunny old england and the only thing that could possably of done it is the slate i have in a small area with some rocks that have been in my tank for ages so they arent really sharp larry seems happy with my amano shrimp tho. there is one baby amano a tiny bit bigger than it. they spend some time together but hopefully i can find some more. normally for the coloured shrimp you pay alot of money for compared to amano shrimp but amano shrimp are cool aswell mine are allways swimming from my java moss to plants to my pot to rockery to the heater and stuff they are so active and my small tetras dont even notice them untill they crash into each other then the shrimp flys away somewhere mainly is the shrimp swimming around and crashing into the tetras and getting a fright and zooming to some plant or something its funny to view it

I am glad that you found a Cherry Shrimp for sale locally

The only shrimp I have seen for sale are Ghost Shrimp. And I didn't really see THEM just a sign saying Ghost Shrimp 10 for $1, but the tank was full of feeder guppies

And sometimes I see some Bamboo Shrimp and SW Shrimp like Peppermints

Best wishes on finding a friend for larry

Until then you can play "Where's Waldo" with him, I can't believe that game is so popular
