No personal experience, but a lot of hear-say.

Bettas are evolved to eat insects near the surface. A shrimp swimming near the surface would probably be pretty tempting. Some have reported their bettas wouldn't hurt a fly, other say they attack anything that moves.

Bettas also don't appreciate the same water conditions as far as I can tell, so I'd find a different tank mate.

hirschy....one question mark is enough by the way. Bettas are micropredators and will eat shrimp young at the least, possibly hurting and harassing adults. This has been said before here....plus, bettas are not any different from other fish and it does not make any sense to ask about every single fish species and their compatibility with shrimp. I have said that many times before, too. Everything that applies to fish applies to X fish species (including bettas). Exceptions are mentioned in the forum and in the articles. Please do your research. This is a warning. Thread closed.
