Does any one here use an Nanoube or Aquapod for shrimp only? I was looking at them but is seems there is no way to block the intake of the filter. Does anyone know?

I kept cherry shrimp in a 12-gallon nanocube for a year or so with good results. With the cube I have there are a bunch of foam blocks in the first phase of filtration -- I just made sure that a block was positioned so that it blocked the entire filter intake and that kept shrimp from getting sucked in.
Lots of little ones grew up fine in the tank. Occasionally an adventerous soul would climb over the edge and live in the filter compartment for a bit, but they were prevented by the foam from getting sucked further into the system.
My understanding is that jbj has redesigned the filter compartment since I bought mine, though, so you might want to check one out in person to make sure the intakes can still be blocked.
