Just a little back groung.
3 years ago I purchase my first RCS and come to find out. There were "Wild Type" Neocaridina mix in. So I can say that these are not pure RCS.
Take a look and tell me what you think
I have 4-5 Shrimp with this coloration and this one has the most Black.
She even gets darker.

Are you planning to selectively breed for this color? It is a unique color

I like the color. I'm surprised that you only have a few after 3 years though. I would have thought there would be more dark-colored offspring produced.

I love the color. "Black Cherry" popped into my head.

I do plan on selectively breeding for this color.
This color appeared in my Super RCS Tank. I believe that is why I only have 3 of these.
I has taken 2 years of selective breeding to get the solid red coloration.

Interesting that it is only in your supper red tank

I think it would more likely happen in the supper red tank since the new morph is based on hyperpigmentation (more color pigments).

As soon as they become berried they will be moved into there own tank.
And then only time will tell.

It's good to be back.
It almost looks like a different species...Keep us updated, I look forward to hearing your progress on raising more of this strain.

Beautiful color! My RCS are still juvies, so I think I still have a long time before I get any babies.
The color looks almost purple on my computer...I would love to have purple shrimp!

It's a very strange looking shrimp....almost muscular looking. Interesting.
