Welcome to the forum!
That name is not specific enough to do anything with. There are several shrimp that go by that name, and there may be many more. One is a filter feeder, theother a long-armed shrimp. Give it a google and see what you come up with. Once you pin it down, we canprobably give you more info.

This is a very different forum than you are used too. It is a matter of etiquette and members are expected to do a little research before posting questions. We don't expect you to burn hours & hours, but some research is expected.
The shrimp varieties page gives most of the info you need to keep them alive & happy. If you do a forum search for "vampire" you'll find info from members that have them. Best I can do. BTW- as cool as they look, they are not a beginners shrimp. Most people kill them within weeks, even advanced fish keepers. Unless your water is naturally soft, you'd be well served to find another shrimp.
The forum is all about helping each other, but it is not about doing the work for you if the info is already there. If you do a good faith effort and still can't find what you need, say what you searched for and what you can't find. People will gladly help you then.

Nobody gets banned for just asking questions. People get banned because they blatantly ignore rules, which include ignoring the rule about searching the forum. You could have answered your own question by just doing a simple search for "cameroon" in the forum. Then you could have figured out that you have an african filter shrimp from those posts. There is LOTS of info about filter shrimp in this forum and in the shrimp varieties pages. All large filter shrimp have very similar lifestyles, so they tend to have almost identical requirements.stretchybabe wrote:i did check out the shrimp varieties but it dosnt give much info,,i thought thats wot a forum was about,,,advice from others,,thats y i joined,,i assume i will be banned for posting this aswell
In any case, you have actually broken the search rule and rule No. 5 about clear and legible posts. I have even amended that particular rule to include a ban of "internet teenager slang" like "wut", "u", "y" "dis", "dat" etc.. Also, posting a million question marks behind a question or a bunch of commas for no reason does not help with taking a poster seriously either.
Bottom line is that this not a "teenager hangout." It's for people (which could include mature, serious teenagers of course) who are serious about keeping and breeding shrimp and are willing to do go through the research to get up to date on these animals before asking questions instead of cluttering the forum with questions that have been discussed a gazillion times before.
I have already told you during your signup process (before you even made a single post) to go read the rules very *carefully*, as I had already suspected that trouble is on the horizon based on your "why can't I log on???" email right after you signed up (disregarding the clear instructions given to you during signup that you are supposed to wait for an email notification after the admin approves your membership). This is not highschool and I (and others on this forum) have no obligation to keep "teaching" people who have no desire to learn (but want everything to be served to them in neat little "packages" of information) and show no iniative to do even basic research (and ask questions like "why should I reread the rules??").
So, consider this a last warning before I take action.
