sexing red clawed macros

Ok i did a search on the site for pictures of the red clawed macros that i just purchased. The two i bought one is definitively male the smaller one looked female in the store now its a little darker. The only reason i am worried is i just fed the tank i they went at each other.Any help would be fine as i want
to breed the awsome shrimp.

Just because the 'female' appears darker does not mean it is male. It could mean that it was stressed in the pet store, and now feels more at ease.
My male and female red claw macros compete for food. I make sure that it dosen't all get bunched up in one spot.
I also have noticed that some foods are their favorites and they will try to horde it (grab a piece in each claw and be eating a third).
It is fairly easy to tell the different genders by the tail. While looking at them in profile, the male shrimp tend to have a sleek line on the bottom with a large hump on top of the tail. The females have extended sides where their swimmerets are located, to hold eggs.

I am happy to say its a girl when i get some more money the pet store is out a couple more. Thanks a bunch i hope to see eggs soon when i bought her it looked like she had a saddle. So finger crossed the ghosties have eggs to bad i have no where to put them.
