As of today i am the proud owner of 6 baby cherry shrimp, after asking my lfs to get some in they did and i went to buy some today for £2 each. I can tell they are babies because they are only 0.5 cm long and dont have full colour yet which is good becuase i get to keep them longer.

I agree, dwarf shrimp can be incredibly addictive once you get going.
Please keep us informed on how your tank is progressing!

wow, they literally are 'babies'. 5 mm long so they were probably only a few days to a week old when you got them. Congrats. It is SOOO addicting

They arnt all .5, that was the smallest, they are slowly growing and the biggest one that went through his first molt today is about 1 cm now, and like mustafas article about buying young shrimp, i am going to be able to keep them longer.
Oh and i also bought 1 amano shrimp yesterday

That's good news

May I ask what other type of shrimp you have seen in England? I am currious about what is available. Keep up the good work on keeping your shrimp healthy !

Yes you may ask
I havnt really seen alot, in shops i have only ever seen algea shrimp untill i asked at my local fish shop to get in some cherrys.
However on ebay from UK sellers i have seen cherry shrimp, algea shrimp, tiger shrimp and bumblebee shrimp, so really there isnt alot from what i have seen but i guess that if you find the right people who have connections to others in America and get them shipped then you would be able to find other speices.
