I got this with a bunch of blue shrimp today in Toronto. Is this a blue tuger shrimp?

Sorry for the lousy photo, I'll try to get a better one soon.

Those look like blue tigers. Do me a favor and try to breed them to see if the offspring also retain the blue coloration.

Sorry BlueEl, Harold didn't even know he had a Blue Tiger. It came in with the blue shrimp and I didn't notice it until late last night.

Breed them Mustafa? I bought them to feed my Oscars.

Ok I'm kidding. Of course I'll try to breed them. But I only have one? I guess I should try breeding them with tigers and blue and see what shakes out.

If I breed them woth red shrimp do I get purple shrimp?

I'm kidding again.

I know you're kidding. :-D

Try to breed the blue one with a normal tiger and keep selecting out the ones that are not blue. Of course you'll need more than one tank for this.

If you are lucky, after some hard work and several generations, you might end up with a pure breeding stock that will hopefully look close to this:

There is no completely true-breeding stock of Blue tigers yet..although Gerd Voss, who owns the above website is getting close to it.

Hey rs79, I was just kidding. I hope you can breed them with the regular tiger. Any of your tiger shrimps carrying eggs yet?

Are you saying that the blue tiger was mixed in with the blue shrimp? If so, then that might indicate that the blue shrimp and the tiger shrimp went through the same artificial coloring session.
