Eyes Changing Color?

Post by guntank0079 »

I had a question about the glass shrimp:

When they are smaller in size, their eyes are darker.
But when they (the female ones, 3 out of the 15 glass shrimps) reached 2 inches, their eyes became white...

Is it because of any infections?

I think this is pretty normal. Have a look at the piictures of them on the shrimp varieties page. I'm not sure white is what I would call them, but certainly light colored vs. dark.

Body color is something you should worry about though. If that goes white it nearly always means trouble.

Thanks for the reply!

I have read from another thread that when the glass shrimp turns milky or white, it's going to die soon...
And unfortunately, one of them did turn a little milky color...

Anyway, nothing I can do now, and just wait for the others take care of him when he lays down...

But for the eye color, one of them turned back to light grey...
Just a liitle strange...
