Just thought I'd share a photo of two of my 3 berried Malaya. Next week I should have young if they go according to the estimated time to carry in the varieties section. The female that has been carrying eggs for 13 days is also again saddled.

Nice looking soon-to-be mommas. What do you plan on feeding the larva?

The larva do not require any special care or feeding and will become "mini shrimp" in 3 days or so from what I have learned. I will update occasionally on how the young are progressing after birth.

Thanks for the nice picture, again

So now you have three, that just means you are doing things right and the shrimp are happy with it

What is the temperature of the water? You can get a better estimation of when the eggs will hatch if you know the temperature.

They are kept at a temperature of 76-78 degrees F.... Mustafa lists a 17 day (give or take) time on hatching so I think soon.

Update:
Here is a photo of one of the young, this one is about 4mm. I have 4 batches of young of various sizes. Not sure about survival rate as there are lots of good places to hide in my tank, but I see little ones all over at any given time so I'd guess there are allot. Sorry about photo quality, but the little guys stay on the move and are hard to shoot as well as being so transparent....

Sorry about these Malaya threads being spread out

, but I wasn't adding them to one thread like I now do and will do in the future...Perhaps Mustafa can merge them.
My survival rate has been very good but not 100% I think, I had asked Mustafa if he was getting better and he mentioned trying a more orderly water change schedual and cleaner water to obtain the near 100% he was seeing. I do have around 75% as best guess...
Cheers, Bill

That's already a very good survival rate. I'd say you're having success with these shrimp. Just make sure that you have at least another tank going with these guys (if you have the space) to avoid getting your population wiped out due to some mishap. These guys are so rare that it would be a shame if they disappeared from the hobby.

Thanks for the suggestion/tip. It would be terrible to lose all that you work towards by some unexpected event

. I will try to split some of my diferent shrimp up soon.
