I've just been watching mine and they appear to be using their antennae as some sort of signaling device. They seem to be almost waving at each other from different parts of the tank. When one comes out from hiding it appears to wave at any individual it sees. This then waves back in turn.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I wish I had some of these Shrimp to notice this behavior.

They are alittle out of my price range at this time.
I guess I will have to wait for other Hobbyist to breed them. I have heard that alot of the Females that come in are already berried.
If they breed this easy and the Offspring have a good survival rate, The price should drop in a short time.

Hi John,

The price nearly killed it for me too, but now that I've had them for three weeks I don't regret it.
Thankfully they settled in fine and have all gone through at least one molt.

Despite the size they are much more interesting to watch than all of my other shrimps put together.

Now all I need are some babies

I have heard that there coloration can also be Black, and they can change there Red coloration.

I have not seen any for sale from anyone in the US yet.

Hi John,

When they arrived they were only about 7mm, but now after a molt they are more like 9-10mm.

They were quite dark to start with, but now they have become brave enough to venture out into the open the colour is every bit as good as a marine blood shrimp. The best bit though has to be their pure white legs and antenae.....this makes them really striking especially when they are feeding and signaling.

Unfortunately mine are in a tank that is end on, and they spend most of their time towards the back. I'm struggling to get any good pictures. From the naked eye its very difficult to see if any are berried. Although some do look slightly deeper in the body.

They are much smaller than the usual dwarf shrimp, how long have you had them?

If they breed this easy and the Offspring have a good survival rate, The price should drop in a short time.

I hope this is the case, we have seen this trend with the Chrystal Red shrimp

Truely tiny wonders of nature.

I've only had mine for three weeks now.........so far so good.
