Howdy Mustafa and All,

The young that showed up in my Cardinal ordered from Indonesia are now growing fast and along with the 40 or so young Cardinals are some of these guys...about 5 that I can count so far. So it appears another bonus species is in the tank and as they mature I will be putting them in their own tank. They have an orange tint, but are otherwise pretty clear as Juveniles there is another to the rear left in photo... There are about 1/4 inch right now and growing faster it seems than the Cardinal young. These are in addition to the shrimp discussed in a different post and I have about 6 of that species as well.



Also I may have missed my first berried Cardinal as I have found several newborn shrimplets in the tank over the last two days...No clue as to where they came from as I never saw one berried. Lot of places to hide and allot of shrimp in this particular 20 long.

Great news, we can deduce that there could have been some captive breeding since baby shrimp don't magically appear. However your tank really is something special

I can't tell from the picture but does this species have a rather long rostrum and two blue dots on the tail? If so, that's a species from a different lake and may have been mixed in with these guys at the exporter/importer/wholesaler/dealer. My "other contaminant species" female is still doing great and I spot a few young once in a while. They seem to be growing. So far, they've been pretty shy and the female only comes out at night.

I haven't noticed the blue coloring (dots) but I will look and try for a better photo. The rostrum is indeed long on these shrimp.

My Dark Maroon shrimp are also a shy species and stay in the rocks most of the day, the others (like yours) are out foraging about most of the day, but I think its the safety in numbers feeling as they are in with a ton of Cardinal Shrimp.

Yes it is sort of dirty, but shrimp love the extra feeding surfaces. I will clean it later in the front to get some clearer photos. Still see no blue on these guys...

Hmmmm...never seen this species before. By the way, you seem to have *two* more species in there, not just one. The one in the two pics above and one different kind of shrimp that's in the picture with the sponge filter. It's the one in the center between the two shrimp with the "humpback." The one in the center has a different shape altogether. It's a different species (unless the photo is playing a trick on me).

wow, that's neat! I hope they continue to prosper. It is interesting how often these bonus surprises appear in shipments.
