new sulawesi
new 29 gallon tank for the blue cadinal. hard water planted will that work out? water is very alkaline and hard out of ther tap, decorations will be lots of plants and silicone covered drift wood. Any recomendations on hard water tolerant plants? carpet plants especially!
Re: new sulawesi
Not sure about carpet plants but java moss might fit the bill. Java fern and Anubias would work for "general" plants

Why cover the driftwood in silicone?
As far as hard water tolerant plants, I will share my experience:
My water is very hard, and light levels are fairly high, though would probably be considered moderate by most planted tank people (I hardly consider my tanks "planted" though). Nutrient levels are virtually zero in all my tanks which I expect to be more of a limiting factor than my hard water, but either way, the only rooted plants I have had success with so far are dwarf Sagittaria (Sagittaria Subulata).
I am sure there are plenty others; I've heard Anubias Nana are supposed to grow under just about any conditions, and the "petite" variety would make nice groundcover.
