I have a new batch of red cherry shrimp for the past 3-4 weeks. A few have died recently an I suspect one or two more will soon follow.

Water chem. + setup

ph: 7.37
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 0

gh: 3
tds: 77
tank: 10 gal
filter: sponge (24/7)
plants: moss, java fern
light: 2-15 watt florescent (14 hours/day)

I am concerned that the water may be too soft and at the extreme end of their allowable level. Any thoughts and/or corrective actions?

Your water is not too soft at all. It's just fine so don't mess with it. You may just be (unknowingly) feeding too much, which causes bacteria blooms over time. Shrimp are very sensitive to that. So...do a 25-30 percent water change and stop feeding altogether. The shrimp will be just fine and there should be enough food in the tank for them already.

Thank you for the info Mustafa. I have stop feeding them already and will do a 25% (oops) water change as suggested.
