Ghost Shrimp, Lots of Questions

I am thinking about getting a ghost shrimp. I need to know a lot of things before I get one though. First off, what is the minimum tank size required for them? Will they be okay in soft, neutral water with some aquarium salt added, or do they have different water requirements? Will it be best to get one, a couple, or a group of them? Would they be okay with gravel for a substrate and silk plants to climb on? Do they require a filter? Any other information would be great. Also, I could possibly house him separately, but how would he do with 5 female Platies and a male Betta? Would any of them attack him? I would want to avoid that at all costs, as he would be a beloved pet. Thanks, and advice would be appreciated.

Have you done any research on this website and forum yet? I would urge you to perform lots of searches first as much, if not all, information has been discussed multiple times over the years (and it's part of the rules of this forum do perform searches).
