I noticed that one of my Ghost Shrimp in my community tank was pregnant so I moved her to my hospital tank. Her eggs were dark brown at the time, being about a week ago. However, the mother passed away last night...
I was able to extract most of the eggs from her swimming-legs and put them back into the hospital tank. There is a lot of java moss, the temp is at a steady 70 degrees F, and there is an airstone in there at the moment (due to how her moving the eggs kept them oxygenated). I've heard that some species of Ghost Shrimp need brackish water for the eggs, but I'm pretty sure that this is one of them that doesn't because they are from Petsmart and they always get babies with their pregnant moms. How can I keep the eggs alive? They are now almost clear so I think that they are pretty far along.
Please help! I want to try to save them!
