out of my 10 opaes, 3 were berried. all the baby shrimps have 'hatched' from one them. 11 upside down floating/swimming babies are now in the tank---21 opaes now.
about a couple of days after the babies started to hatch and float about, i noticed that the last shrimp to have eggs have had eggs missing. she was down to the last 4 when i started to watch her more closely. these eggs were still black(about 2weeks old), not reddish like the 'riper' ones. as i looked away for no more than an hour, she was carrying only 2. i noticed she appeared to be 'brushing' the eggs or swimmerets quite vigorously. however, i never saw any eggs actually dropping. that was yesterday. now she has none left. so, i only have one shrimp left carrying about 8 eggs--i'll watch to see if they are disappearing.
has anybody noticed this happening? or knoq why?

Re: halocaridina rubra eggs disappearing
This can happen. The exact reasons are unclear but seem to be environmental. I would not worry too much about it.
