I'm gonna get a new larger tank for my inverts, and was wondering how i go about this. I'm gonna use the same filter, but a different heater, and I'm going to move the rocks, sand, plants etc as well.

anything else I need to do? what about the glass of the new tank? I'm gonna make it, but I know how and have done it before, so that's ok. what about the micro organisms and algae that they need? How do I prevent loss of any shrimps or snails or any ammonia or nitrite spikes?

Make sure you transfer as much water from the old aquarium to the new one. Also keep the filter cartridges. This will keep some of the beneficial bacteria present. Make sure you do not use any chemicals or harmful substances when making your aquarium, or cleaning it.

Good luck!
