I just noticed two females carring eggs. How long does it take for amano eggs to hatch?

Give it about 3-4 weeks. I varies. Just count the days from now to the actual hatching in your tank and you'll know approximately how long it takes under your particular tank conditions. This way you're prepared for next time if you want to transfer the larvae to brackish/saltwater.

My Amano shrimp carried its eggs for almost 3 months!!!!

When it finally hatched, it looked like there was a sand storm or something coz the larvaes dispersed everywhere

IT depend on the condition of your water and how happy they are... if they are comfortable with their enviroment i believe the hatching process will happy is 3 weeks time

Thanks guys I think this will be week two

I will know when they are ready because you can see a little black speck in the eggs when they are ready to hatch.

I'm wondering if pH plays an important part in the hatching.
what is everyone pH ? My tank water pH=8. kH = 4
I have yet to see hatching.
Can someone tell me how the larvae look like ?
I saw white creatures that stick on the glass tank with 5 legs.
Is that it ? Or is it something else ?
Or are they free-swimming in the water all the time ?
Do they stick on the glass ?

thgng, They are really small and skinny. About 1.5 mm long and about as thick as a hair. They hang upside down in the water column and are free floating.
Check out this page it has good pictures of its larvae

Thanks Ben.
The scuds in my tank reproduced very quickly.
Unfortunately, the guppy are not eating enough of them.
I can't tell if I the larvae are from the Yamato shrimp, tiger shrimp or the scud.
The picture in the article is excellent, but I don't have a microscope to tell which is which.
