Snails eating snails

Post by KenCotigirl »

Hello,

When I started my H. rubra I received a few snails. Now however they are every where. How can I get rid of them? I know there are snail species that preys on other snails but they live in either fresh or full salt water. Is there a snail eating snail that can survive in brackish water?

Do the snails have yellow/black stripes? Then it's Anentome helena, which can live in both fresh and brackish water.

sorry if I confused anyone. I am trying to get rid of snails. They look like MTS. The snails are in with Halocaridina rubra. The water is brackish. Could the assassin snail live in brackish water?

I never tried breeding them in brackish water (only bred them in freshwater) but I don't see why they shouldn't breed in brackish water. It's worth a try.

Sorry for my confusion but you did answer my question. However I do have another. If I purchase Anentome helena from a fresh water source do I need to acclimate them to brackish water? If yes any suggestion as how to acclimate?
