New Setup tank

Hi all,

i am new to keeping shrimps, thinking of setting up a 40G CRS tank. Will these do?

1. Undergravel Filter
2. Ehiem 2215 caninster filter (filter wool, ceremic ring, biohomme)
3. Ada aquasoil ( Based on some of the reviews, i heard that this is reduce the PH level and also produce ammonia which i intend on doing a fishless cycle)
4. Java moss + fern

What kind of filter media should i use? Is carbon necessary? What other bio media is recommanded?

Any inputs will be of great help!!!
