Amano shrimp temperature?

I just bought an amano shrimp and have been trying to find out what temperature range these shrimp can tolerate and what is optimal. At the store the shrimp was in a community tank with cardinal tetras, which I also bought. But when I introduced them into my aquarium at home (which stays at 79-80 degrees fahrenheit), the tetras took off and acclimated right away while the amano freaked out and climbed out of the water and onto my hand! This comes off to me as an obvious red flag. I put him in a separate jar with some marimo algae for now. In the community tank are a betta, some neon and cardinal tetras, a plecostamus, a tylomelania snail and some ghost shrimp. The ammonia reads zero, and the Ph is basic. So what gives?? Is it the temp?

79-80 is not a problem for Amano shrimp. Maybe your shrimp was just freaked out? If the tylomelania and the ghost shrimp are doing well, then the Amano should be fine, too.

Thanks for the speedy answer! This morning I put the shrimp into a small floating cup to bring the temp of his water up with the temp of the aquarium, and he just jumped out when he was ready. He's doing great, happily doing what shrimp do! Thanks again for the help! ~Megan
