So yes, the shrimpmania bug has bitten me :D. Since most LFS don't quite sell the "unique" shrimp, i.e. bees, I was wondering if there're any breeders or vendors here that I could talk to. Please drop some info if you have any, thanks!

If Mustafa doesn't offer the shrimp you're looking for, try Aquabid.

Michael,

which lfs' do you frequent? there are one or two in SF that i've seen w/ algae eating shrimp and usually it's just amanos. aside from that, most of the other lfs' are scattered around the bay area. i've only checked out the ones in the east bay since they are closer in proximity to me. i imagine tho, that more lfs' will start carrying algae eating shrimp... i'd say check back periodically.

Ah, totally missed that "buy shrimp" link :P

The only good one I've found is Albany Aquarium. They carry quite a variety of shrimps, including vampires, woods, cherries, and amanos. Unfortunately, their shipments are usually few and far between.

Try the Octopus's Garden as well in Berkeley. It's on the 3000 block of Shattuck just south of Ashby. I checked it out for the first time this past weekend and will be going again this weekend. I've heard that they have all kinds, including Crystal Reds, Amanos, Green, Cherries, Rainbows, Malayan, Wood, etc. I only saw Amanos and Rainbows when I was there, but I'm hoping they'll have a lil more variety upon my return this weekend. The kewl thing, too, is that they sell all shrimp for the same price.
