Blue Cray In Berry, Poor Mothering Skills?

So, I purchased my female cray in mid-October from a single-cray tank and she's since remained solitary. I find today she's apparent laid eggs. I suppose since some species can carry sperm for an extended time, she may have just had a gentleman caller some time back and was carrying around her dirty little secret. In any event, I'm seeming maybe ten eggs or so scattered around the site of her 'burrow' in my tank like they were dropped and left. Does anyone know if it's normal for a cray to abandon some eggs? One does seem a slight bit fuzzy, so, I'm running under the assumption they may be unsatisfactory? Or, is she simple just disinterested in them? First time mom syndrome, maybe?

Crays (and shrimp) drop their eggs for various reasons. The main reasons are 1. unfertilized eggs 2. adverse water parameters. In your case it's probably No. 1. Wait a week or two as it may take that long for all unfertilized eggs to be dropped. Then you'll know for sure.
