Hi,

I purchased some snails from your site.

I'm really bad at remembering scientific names, so....

What are the common names for the Terebia granifera and Melanoides tuberculatas?

I can't seem to find any info on them here. Or I'm just missing it.

Thanks!

There is really no "common name" in the aquarium hobby for Tarebia granifera. If you search on Google you'll find "quilted Melania" in scientific papers, but I don't really see that "common name" used all that commonly. The Melanoides tuberculata are called "Malaysian Trumpet Snails, short "MTS") in the aquarium hobby, and "red rimmed Melania" in scientific papers.

Do the Tarebia granifera bury in the substrate the same way that MTS do?

I was also wondering whether these snail can live in freshwater? I have not done well with the Hawaiian red shrimp and not longer have any living :( so I'm thinking of converting my tank back to fresh water.

Yes, they'll be fine in freshwater, too, if you convert the tank slowly.
