help with ID?

Can you help me with my new shrimp? Its a filter feeder, but not sure else. Not a bamboo I dont think. COuld be the african kind, he has a different colour though and isnt that big (I guess YET lol).
If it is the african kind are the quite armour plated out of interest???
Here's a pic! Sorry its bad the camera kept focusing on the wrong thing lol.

That is a african filter shrimp, also known as the vampire shrimp or the cameroon armored shrimp. Its latin name is Atya gabbonesse. Its color might be because of molting or dying, or it could be normal. Check the shrimp varieties page.

hmmm okay. they had pale blue and 2 this colour.... Ok if its the african, coz I have checked him out before, the one on the site just looks much more beastly haha.
JUst noticed the site does say colour can be variable
Sorry lol.
He has been all around the tank and found the places he likes to sit and filter now (and my tank has alot of suspended particles so he is having a field day!!)
