Can candy cane shrimp (crystal reds) be put together in with cherry red shrimp? The candy canes seem to be a little hostile towards them, knid of chasing them alittle! Thanks.

What exactly is your question? You're asking if you can put Crystal Red Shrimp together with Crystal Red Shrimp? By the way..."Candy Cane" is a name someone must have made up for Crystal Reds (as if there aren't enough common names already). The shrimp are the same and there is no difference between them.

Well people in HI, don't have that much acess, as you mainlander folks have it up there. We have strict laws that regulate alot of things, because it might endanger or destroy the Hawaiian ecosystem. (NO OFFENSE). Thats the name I came to know them as "candy cane shrimp", and to me thats a good common name, because it seems to look like a candy cane. Enough said. Thanks.

i have not yet had the plesure of owning either of these species but plan to soon. well, cherrys and tiggers actualy, but who knows what will be avalible at the time. anyways, from what i've learned these two specise will be fine as long as you have enough food as they are both algae eating spices. the only algae eating spices that would be a problem with 'candy cane' shrimp would be tiggers and bumblebees. this is only because tiggers and bees can cross breed with the 'candy canes' other than that even they would be compatible.

In that case, no there is no problem with keeping Red Cherries and Crystal Reds, they'll be fine. The reason I criticize giving one species of shrimp a "million" different names is that at some point nobody will know what everyone else is talking about because there are so many "common" names out there. By the way...that name is not "common" at all. I've only seen in once in an aquabid auction.

Are you aware that bumblebee shrimp and bee shrimp are two different species altogether? Just asking because you make it sound like they are one and the same in your statements above.

yes, sorry about that. i know that bee shrimp are diferent than bumble bees and the crystle reds are breed from the bee shrimp and not the bumble bee shrimp. i just thought i would keep it simple sense bumble bees seem to bee(pun intended) more comman. i should have said not to keep with any other caridian serata.
