bumblebee shrimp with eggs

I just got a bumblebee shrimp with eggs if they hatch will other shrimps like amanos and cherries eat them. Will cardinal tetras eat them? Fully planted tank.

i don't think they'll last very long with the cardinals in there

Hello !
Some Java-Moos and small stones do fine for breeding and protecting small shrimp. First at all, the amount of other shrimps and Fish depend on the size of your tank. Mine Neocaridina denticulata sinensis do fine with Cardinal-Tetra (Tanichthys albonubes) and Moskito-Rasbora and have a lot of young. Problem is when mix shrimps, then one kind gonna success and the other species will have less young. So on longer time should put the cherries to another tank if you like to have more bumblebees.

what's ur water temperature? It takes 22 days or more depending on your water temperature.

77 F, is that ideal?

Hi ! 77 F should be fine for breeding. But some time in the year a little colder to have a rest should be good for the shrimp. Good for the shrimps is also to stay together with Ancistrus Catfish - I read the rates of young shrimps gonna be higher.

Hi Florian,
Tanichthys albonubes are not Cardinal Tetras. T. albonubes is called "White Cloud Mountain Minnow" or just short "White Cloud" here in the US. The scientific name for a Cardinal Tetra, which by the in German is called "Roter Neon", is Paracheirodon axelrodi.
Having said that...any fish with a normal mouth (as opposed to specialized mouth like Otocinclus etc) will eat shrimp hatchlings no matter how small the fish is. That does not mean that the shrimp population cannot grow if there are enough hiding places, but it means that the shrimp population will not grow as much as it would have without the fish. Of course there is always the possibility that the shrimp population will not grow at all if you have too many little fish preying on shrimp hatchlings.

that tank is fully planted with many hidding spots.
So what do you suggest feeding fry?

Hello !
The shrimp- fry gonna find a lot to eat when you not remove a dirt out of your tank. They digest the digest food from your fish for example. Not need to give special food - when the old shrimp survive they gonna find some food too. important is to change often water to keep conditions well. But don't take away mud from the ground, that is what is best for the fry to eat.
