Surprise Shrimp Advice?

hello everyone, I am hoping to get some advice on a shrimp that i didn't know i had.
I have a 10 gal. freshwater aquarium with two very simple small goldfish. I bought some live plants that came with hidden snail eggs.. and apparently a tiny shrimp. Over the course of several months the snails have taken over, my fish are suddenly laying eggs like mad.. (they both appear to be females.. no fertile eggs) and i suddenly discovered this .5 inch long creature in my tank. It is black with small white speckles. I don't know how to care for a shrimp, but I'd like to try my best.. does anyone have any idea how common it is to have such surprises? I'm assuming that the shrimp came as an egg or a larva with the live plant.. it's a very interesting creature but i want to make sure that it's happy and healthy and not in danger from the snails or goldfish.. or a danger to the fish for that matter. i like a peaceful tank
does anyone know what type of shrimp it is and how i should care for it? it seems to be doing alright.. i thought it was a part of the plant for a long time.. as it didn't move.. then suddenly it was walking about. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
