To what species does the "Eine kleinbleibende Garnele aus Peru (ca 2 cm)" shown (about one-third down the page) under the entry for 10.03.2005 at http://www.crusta10.de/index.php?sideid=news_de belong? Mustafa - I recollect you once having posted a link (which also sported an image of a long-armed troglodyte with a resemblance to Troglocubanis) depicting this shrimp.

Could it possibly be a freshwater alpheid? There is a distinct resemblance between them and the Metabetaeus lohena depicted here.

That shrimp is most likely not a Macrobrachium, but I also doubt that it is an alpheid shrimp. If it comes from the Peruvian Amazon then it would be so far away from the ocean (thousands of miles) that it would make it unlikely that an alpheid shrimp made it all the way up the amazon. On the other hand, nothing is impossible and if this shrimp turns out to be an alpheid shrimp it would be the first one to live that far up the a river. Of course I would want them for breeding purposes. :)
