Will female crayfish fight each other? Or do only males fight each other?

Hi, i'm new to this forum and crayfish owning as a whole.

I keep all 10 of my crayfish in separate containers. I was just wondering if female crayfish will fight if I put them in the same tank?

How aggressive crayfish are varies by species (the dwarf species for instance tend to be less aggressive and can be kept in groups), but as far as I know the females are not notably less aggressive. Hence why basically unless it is a very large tank with a lot of hiding spaces it is recommended you not keep more than one of the medium sized or large species in the same aquarium, regardless of their sex. They may well be fine together for long periods, but there is always a chance that one will kill the other, especially if it takes advantage of one that has just molted.

But I'm not an expert, I've just always kept my larger crayfish separate from others of their kind. I did keep a large prawn with one for months but one day I found it dead and half eaten after a molt. I can't be sure the crayfish killed it but it seems likely.
