Hey there,
So last night I got home from work to discover that my roommate had knocked over the tank that I had been prepping for my Shrimp and they arrive today. Is there anything I can do or am I screwed. Do the shrimp arrive in enough water that they will be able to survive for a few weeks while I reprep the tank? Any advice helps.
Thank You,
Tfsloane

All might not be lost. The water lost does not contain most of the beneficial bacteria that you have been nurturing while cycling the tank. They live on the substrate, decorations and sides of the tank. If those were still wet (and still are) you probably don't have much to worry about. Make a new batch of water if you haven't already done so and put everything together again. When the shrimp arrive, add their water to the new water and any that you salvaged. Check the water everyday to check for ammonia or nitrite spikes. Do partial water changes if necessary and use a detoxifier such as Prime if necessary. Good luck!

I read Mustafa once posted that the shrimp could live up to 3 months in the bag they arrive in. You could transfer them and the water from the bag into a drinking glass or some glass or plastic container and cover with cellophane or something and I bet they would be fine for at least a few weeks.

Hi! I was just wondering what you ended up doing in your predicament. Did you re-set up the tank and add the shrimp immediately, or did you wait to add the shrimp? Hope things have turned out OK.
