Wish they would hold still. Don't they know I need pics? Managed to grab 2 mamas in one frame.

Congrats! Soon you'll be seeing some very decorative floating larvae. :-D

Today I found a 4th berried shrimp!

They must really be feeling good. Warmer temps + stable environs are working their magic :-D

I removed the free-floating hair algae that was masquerading as chaeto. I wanted to get it out before any larvae (hopefully) appear, and although I had to shake loose a few tiny snails it came out nice and easy. The Mustafa Mossball™ looks kind of lonely now, but the shrimp don't seem to mind.

I think that's enough poking at the tank until the eggs hatch. They don't seem to be getting any bigger to me, but maybe I'm not a good judge since they are pretty tiny even with a magnifying glass. All four shrimp have at least seven eggs each, so if most of them hatch there's about to be a population boom.

A sad day--one shrimp dropped almost all her eggs. She's still hanging on to one, though! And the other three are all still loaded up, so there's hope :)

It happens sooner or later, and it doesn't mean anything!

Oh man! That must be disappointing, poor mama. But she's still holding onto one at least.

I hope to replicate your success, I have 6-7 saddled shrimp and I just know they are going to go berried at the same time. Fingers crossed.

Looking forward to baby pics from you :)

She's hiding now. Doesn't she know I need pics??!

The shrimplettes are still hanging on to her, can't see any floating freely yet. I wonder how long it will take?

Congrats! I just got my first berried shrimp after 2 years and I hope she holds on to her eggs! How long did it take after you noticed your berried shrimp before the larvae hatched?

Thanks, Mf1! And congrats to you on your newly berried shrimp!

It's been 30 days since I saw the berries, but I<3Opae said the eggs seemed a good size when I first posted, so maybe the mom had been hiding out for a while before I saw them. Now just waiting!

Four hours later and still firmly attached to Mom, lol. She came out of hiding and is doing laps around the tank now.

They are still attached  Should I be worried? Is it normal for it to take this long?

It can take them a long time to free themselves, but they always seem to do so eventually in my experience. They are still moving sometimes, right?
