Hello!
I upgraded my tank to a 4 gallon 3 months ago or so, transferring in my establish water and adding in fresh mixed water. I waited a couple weeks after that to move my opae ula and snails. I have about 9 shrimp and I think 8 snails (I gave some to my sister so I've lost count) but I'm developing a lot of biofilm and my little guys are trying but can't seem to eat it all. Do I have enough shrimp/snails in my tank or should I be adding more to keep all the growth in check?
Also my macroalgae seems to have flattened since moving tanks. Still very green but lost its shape, is that okay or should I be worried?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Do I Need More Shrimp & Snails?
They’re all very hearty and tough including your macroalgae. It’ll come back. My small tiny ball ended up ballooning to 3 times it’s size. So I have no doubts it’ll be fine. It’s probably cause you transferred it that caused the weight of the water to push on it. As for your shrimp and snails, your 4 gal is like a giant mansion now. Lol. I have 10 shrimps and 7 snails in a 1 gal and that thing can hold wayyyy more according to Mustafa. My 3 gal at home has 20 shrimps and 10 snails. Each tank has a berried female and the 3 gal produced 4 or 5 more snails since. So to answer your question, sure why not?!! They’ll enventually reproduce if you want to wait it out as long as you have a female and male, but if you want to make the tank look fuller, add some more. Doesn’t hurt either way.
