Just sharing my luck being a first time Opae Ula keeper. Was very excited when I placed the order for 200 shrimps in Jan 2018 (divided equally between myself and my friend). Waited for a rather long while before they arrived in Mar (Mustafa was waiting for the region to warm up a little before shipping). Introduced the 100 into my tank and as of today, I can estimate that there are easily another 100 shrimplets, at least 50 lavaes in the water column and 10 berried shrimps. Wow, just lucky to have this success and can't wait for the colony to continue to expand.

My setup parameters:
Tank: 2ftx1ftx1ft
Salinity: 1.010 (estimated using hydrometer)
Lighting: 2ft LEDs, initially timed at 12 hrs, now reduced to 8 hrs
Substrate: 3mm black inert gravel
Deco: A pile of black volcanic rocks, 2 x limestones, 1 x ceramic lantern
Food: Did not feed any till now. They are feasting on the natural algae in the tank
Weekly routine: Top up with distilled water
May all share the same luck and happy shrimp keeping.

Cheers
Dennis
