Some pictures of my shrimp!

Post by robokirk »

I am two months in and the shrimp and snails seem to be doing well!

Couple of oberservations:

The chaetomorph I ordered was gone the morning after I received my shrimp... It would appear the shrimp and/or snails ate it. I also have a mossball so everything still seems to be in balance

The snails have reproduced, I have seen a couple babies crawling around

I had visible algae on the coral but withing a few days it was all gobbled up.

Photos taken with a jewlers loupe and my phone, allows for detailed image but a bit challenging to get the shrimp to hold still and pose.

Thanks for the update and observations! :) It sounds strange that the macroalgae was gone within a day, though. The shrimp don't usually eat the macroalgae unless it's dying, and even then it takes forever until the snails (which do most of the eating) and shrimp help consume the slowly decaying algae. Did you take pictures of your tank before the macroalgae disappeared?
