My Opae Ula berried shrimp and snail question
About a year and a half ago I bought 10 shrimp and 10 snails from petshrimp.com, and now 9 shrimp and many snails are thriving. One shrimp finally berried! They may have berried sooner but I moved so that probably stressed them out. I’m very excited to have my first baby shrimp, the mother has been carrying her eggs for almost three weeks, she started with a large clutch of eggs but is down to only 6 so hopefully this new mom doesn’t drop any more!
I also was wondering if someone could identify if I have Tarebia granifera or Melanoides tuberculata? (I can't figure out how to post to a different forum. If the invertebrate forum is still around please help me find it to post there). I got them from Mustafa so I know they're one of the two.

Pretty sure they're Tarebia. I'm no expert, but most pictures of Melanoides I've seen look like they have skinnier shells, often with some kind of patterning.

Re: My Opae Ula berried shrimp and snail question
After a deep dive into the depths of the discussion forum I found some images of other people's snails. My guess right now is that they're just very smooth forms of quilted melania...

Yep...Tarebia granifera. The originals I brought back from Jamaica and they were HUGE with the knobs on their shells. As there isn't much food in the Supershrimp tanks, they don't get that big. And small snails are pretty smooth.
