Sorry to post a lot recently, but I was just watching my shrimp for a couple of minutes (okay, hours) and I noticed my THIRD berried female. I have had 2 females become berried this week alone. I'm not sure if that is fast or what but I'm excited!
Anyway, the third berried female I have is rather smaller than the other two, and less red than them. I also noticed that she was just sitting on one of the rocks not eating or really moving around, unless another shrimp came up to the rock, and then she would chase them away and then swim back and sit on the rock! Is this normal behavior?? I did not think these shrimp were very territorial or aggressive at all. I am thinking she's a new mom because she is way smaller and not as red as the others, and also she seems to be acting strangely.
Anyone have experience or thoughts on this?

Re: Interesting Behavior
Usually the berried female will act strangely( especially when they just got berried or first time berried). I assume that they are not used to the pain to become berried(imagine the pain for human to give birth) or carrying eggs around the first time.
I might be dramatic, but i think it's normal for a young shrimp to be overwhelmed when first time berried. Later, when they become more experienced, they act more carelessly.
