I am new to this forum. I have a 135 gal planted aquarium, which is starting to grow hair algae. I am wondering if Cherry Red shrimp eat hair algae and are fish safe with tetras, rasboras, danios, and cherry and checkerboard barbs. Or are there other shrimps that would suit my needs better? Thank you for your advise.

I wouldn't recommend any small shrimps with fish, my rainbowfishes ate 5 cherries and 3 bumblebees (those we´rw my first shrimps half a year ago)... Expensive meal, 40 euros

Amano shrimps have been doing just fine in the same tank with my fish. I would prefer them.

Hi Wally, welcome to the forum!

I'm new too and while trawling through some of the old topics, came across this one that might help answer the hair algae part of your question:
