Would I stress out my pregnant cherries, if I were to clean out their heavily algae infested home? need to do some rearranging. Thanks

Hi,
If the water is clean, they would probably prefer you not clean up the algae, and the babies will have lots of good stuff to pick on.
But I've also found that berried females are able to do fairly well with change. The majority of my babies are result of store bought berried females, as I haven't been trying to keep this species for very long. To handle the transport in the plastic bag and transfer into a totally new environment (and not in an overly careful manner) and still carry ample offspring to term says something.

Not that offspring yielded isn't affected. And I can't say for sure that it isn't either. Most likely it is. With any disturbance, some eggs can be lost where they could have otherwise hatched without the unnecessary disturbance.
