I've honestly never had much of a hiding situation in my shrimp jar. They're almost always zooming around and being active. It may be environment or maybe just you have some extroverted shrimp!

I just had expected them to take a few days to start to relax but they have all been out and grazing the entire time is very cool to see and I'm glad they're not all hiding

Thanks for the great pictures! I, too, like your little mushroom forest, very creative! The shrimp only hide when the tank is not quite ready yet, or it is so overgrown with algae that they do not need to run around looking for food as it is literally right in front of their noses. Other than that, they should be just running around and picking at things.

Yes lots of picking all day they congregate in one area and go to work lol I can basically count all 21 at any given moment the snails on the other hand are more elusive than I expected

The snails are substrate burrowers and can also be very nocturnal, so you won't see them as often until their numbers increase. But rest assured that they are doing their jobs, a large part of which is to eat all the gunk in the substrate.

I love seeing them exploring all the different elements. Caught a shrimp leaving a dwelling and saw a snail inside a different one

Unfortunately I just have a snail tank for the time being

Hang in there. I'm sure future attempts at keeping these shrimp will be more fruitful. Just keep in mind that when in doubt, just do nothing. These shrimp are so different from other pets, and even other shrimp.

I wanted to mention that my moss ball has been the gift that keeps on giving. It didn’t look like much when it arrived but over the months I’ve divided it several times and have given a few mini balls to my kids for their tanks. I probably have 10 tiny balls in my tank now.

The mossballs are awesome! Under certain conditions they can grow *relatively* quickly and produce a bunch of mini balls...as you have found out. I absolutely love them!
