My two tanks: both 5 gallons, but with very different looks

Post by Ula Hula »

I've had a traditionally shaped tank for a few years and have had a lot of success in expanding my shrimp population. The decor is "natural." I recently got a new glass globe tank (actually a beverage dispenser) and decorated it in a more whimsical way. It has just started cycling. I put some water and chaeto from the old tank in it to help things along and will add snails in a week or so. I've got a few tiny algae "moss" balls in each tank (offspring of the one I bought from this site).

I also redid my old tank, giving the shrimp a lava rock "apartment" complex. They also have access to the dark empty filter chamber behind the rocks.

And here's a painting of an opae ula that my daughter did for me. it has a place of honor above the new tank. :)

That IS a very nice painting, complete with "saddle" and all! :) As for your tanks, the one with the Buddha head in it looks like a hypothetical Atlantis discovery scene...

Yes, I was going for a "lost city/underwater cult" kind of vibe. :)
