Best lighting for opae tank?

Post by Harry »

I have always used a standard (warm) light on my tank. I recently purchased a full spectrum grow light, thinking it will aid in the growth of algae needed for the shrimp and snails. I am wondering if there is a specific light that would be best for the opae?

I got one that simulates the light for the whole day including moon light. It is automatic. My old tank just had on and blue light and I had to turn it to the blue every night. I really like the new light and my plants seem to like it too. I have not put shrimp in yet because I am cycling and so far still waiting for some Algae to start growing so I can move them to new tank.

This is what I got. It even has weather settings. I think it is funny my shrimp can now have weather lighting. lol
