Hi Bettaman,

I don't think that bettas are very good tankmates for shrimp, unless you have a large tank and lots of shrimp. I tried putting three amanos in with my betta once and he chased them all over the tank continuously. One of the shrimp even jumped out (don't worry he was okay). I ended up having to take them out after about only 3 hours.

As for how to take care of shrimp you can read about it on the articles page. My amanos eat flake food, algae wafers, spinach and any algae that's in the tank.

Good luck! Janis :D

1. First of all try a tank dedicated to shrimp. It's easier.

2. Amanos are omnivores so u should be fine with flake and u should prolly suplement with veggies and spirulina algae.

Hope this helps. :-D

if you put cucumber in the tank, you should get plenty of blue green algae: the kind that smells like soil. i'm not sure if shrimp care for this or not though, otos don't seem to.
