Does adding black water help?

I've just put in a few red cherry, tiger & blue shrimps into my tank. A friend who also keeps these shrimps has asked me to add black water to my tank and says that this will keep the mortality rate down. I already have a few Yamato shrimps in there.

I'm wondering if this is true. I don't like that it makes my water look brownish but if it helps... :?

Thanks in advance.

It's totally unnecessary. So don't do it.

Contains trace elements, vitamins and extract of peat. It is intended to replicate blackwater conditions in the aquarium.
