Palaemon adspersus/Palaemon elegans - fresh water?

Is it possible to keep Palaemon adspersus or Palaemon elegans in fresh water or they can survive only in seawater? Is anybody breeding them?
Palaemon species and most Palaemonetes species survive only for a very short time (maybe a couple weeks or months) in pure freshwater. They do not breed in freshwater at all (obviously). They need at least some salt in their water to survive for a long time. The species you linked to occur only in the easter Atlantic. I live in the US, so I have never come across them.
