weird creatures developing in tank
awhile ago i saw leeches in the shrimp tank of a Local fishstore and now i spotted one leech in my tank! also i see these tick lookin creatures that look like baby brine shrimps!
what are these?

HmMm..
The tick looking things sound like over feeding. When you over feed I know the growth of bacteria causes wormy things to grow. The ticks might be the worms very young... Are they white ? These worms are white, and they like to hang out on the glass and on the bottom. The leeches, I don't know, have you purchased anything from a pet store lately ?? Maybe they tagged allong for the ride.

Hm, a tick is a spiderish, somtimes beetle-like looking creature. I think crabs and lobsters have larval forms that look spiderish. Seems unlikely that's what you'd have though!
Or did you mean they look like fleas? Both daphnia and scuds/amphipods/gammarus resemble fleas.
Or if they look like baby brine shrimp, maybe a little bit longer, maybe copepods. And yeah, nauplii do look spiderish too. mmmm, Possibly rotifers..
If any of the above, I wouldn't be worried at all. If you think there's so many that they're a pest though, maybe decrease feedings and change out the water, or introduce fish fry of some sort (small ones that aren't really that threatening to baby shrimp) to eat them.

they swim like baby brine shrimps. i don't know how the animal look like in microscopic view so its hard to ID from pictures. nice pictures though. I was thinking about putting baby guppies into the tank to eat them but my shrimps are in their pregnant period and baby shrimps are hatching. don't want to risk
