Hiding place a must?

Hi. Just wondering if it's a MUST to provide a hiding place for shrimps...especially for when they molt. My tank is full of plants but no proper hiding place. This morning I found a dead Yamato which was in the process of molting. Wondering if the other fishes attacked it whilst it was doing its thing.

Thanks all.

It is always better for shrimp to have shutters in order to avoid predators and harmful strong light when molting. 8)

well, only after molting. Just imagine u temporily lose a small piece of yr first (outer) skin due to accident. Before the outer skin grows back, yr inner skin is soft and vulnerable toward disease/chemical, and especially heat is weak and thus easily get hurt (like sun-burn).
