If the cherries are breeding like crazy, does that mean that the conditions are right for my tigers also?

Yes, I've had this happen before with another species of shrimp. The eggs, obviously, weren't fertile and the female lost them after a couple of days. I know for a fact that the eggs were'nt fertilized as the only shrimp in the tank was the female.

Then they all must be dudes. But I have some smaller shrimp that will mature in a week or two. Hopefully one of them is a girl.

You know, I guess because we usually keep them in good numbers... but I haven't seen Neocaridina/Caridina carry unfertilized eggs. Not sure if they do, myself. Actually I've got 2 female green shrimp, no males, and they do not (or haven't yet) extrude eggs. Then again, maybe other conditions haven't been optimal. Also a female cherry in that tank, saddled, but never giving eggs ... two juvennile cherries with her have grown, and apear to also be females, so no males.

I know Macrobrachium shrimp have definitely been seen with unfertilized eggs.
