My experience with my bamboo shrimp is very similar to Mustafa's. Mine sit on a shelf that I made in front of the return on my eclipse filter and they filter the water all day and night.

I have an Eclipse filter on my 25 high. I put a brand new clear plastic soap dish for the shower with suction cups that you can buy in a bed and bath supply store in my tank upsidedown, so that it was a shelf positioned in front of the water return stream from my filter.
